“Poster for NCKU EE’s 60th Reunion” 2008
Watercolor and digital retouch, digital printed on canvas
2 x 5m
In the year of 2008, the 60th alumnus of the EE department of NCKU were 60 years-old. This was how the birthday reunion were born. I was introduced to these alumnus because one of them is father of my junior in the college.
In this case, they wanted a printed graphic as a background image of the party decoration. After interviewing the alumnus, I thought the original department building was a good icon of memorizing the old times, and it would be great subject to made in big scale. Watercolor paints made it look nostalgic. Also, a logo was designed to used in the ID cards and booklets. This piece received very good responses from the alumnus.

” Polaroid OneStep” and “Polaroid OneStep Black”
2010, watercolor on paper, 18 x 25.7cm
Cameras are used to capture images, and sometimes cameras themselves are captured in some vintage ways like painting. By the rise of digital camera, film cameras are often considered as out-of-time antique machines. I want to tell people about the beauty of these machines by my illustrations.
These are two of a serial camera painting. More are here. 5 months ago / 6 notes

“the statement”
2009 to present, collage on a cover of a 17” laptop computer
This is a collage artwork on a cover of a laptop computer which is for business use, as the green “property of company” label shown in the middle bottom. The clips are most about live music and topic of freedom. They made the laptop a statement that protests against working in the serious environment of a huge company. More clips may gather and wear out continuously.  5 months ago / 0 notes

“smoking”
2009, Pencil and markers on paper, digital tinted.
I don’t smoke but I do enjoy the scene that the smoke blow out from one’s mouth. When the smoke comes out from somebody, it seems carrying something out from the body. The happiness, the melancholic, the invisible feelings turn into visible particle in the air.

“fall asleep while reading a book”
2006, watercolor on paper, 40 x 27cm
This painting is trying to express the feeling by embedding abstract geometry objects. The idea of Kandinsky’s explanation to shapes’ temperature, speed is used. The black cloud is the symbol of “the force of falling asleep”. The tilt rectangle is another downward force. The red bed is a part of dream blending into the chaotic reality. 5 months ago / 2 notes

Both watercolor on paper
These are two paintings of my guitar and amp used at home. The top one is made at 2009. In it are a secondhand SX Stratocaster and a Vox Pathfinder solid state amp.The bottom one is made in 2011. There is still the same guitar but the amp is different. After years of being played, the instruments themselves have the spirit inside. 5 months ago / 0 notes
